My Top 5 Super Bowl Commercials

This past Sunday was the Super Bowl, and everyone knows that with the Super Bowl, comes Super Bowl commercials. There was a wide variety of commercials;: from funny, to emotional, to informative. I think that this year’s Super Bowl commercials were, overall, impressive. Below are my top five commercials.

1. A Dream Car For Real Life- Kia Optima

This was my favorite commercial. It featured the Sandman giving a wife and husband nice dreams. However, as he goes to the husband’s side of the bed, he slips, causing all the ‘dream dust’ to fall onto the husband. This sends him into a wild dream, filled with everything he loves. He is also driving a Kia Optima and races into his wife’s dream to get her. They then drive off into the hills.

2. Happy Grad- Chevy

In this hilarious commercial, a high school graduate is taken outside while blindfolded so that his parents can surprise him with a refrigerator for college. Unfortunately though, he thinks that their neighbor’s Chevy Camaro, parked outside the house, is the gift. He goes into a joyful frenzy screaming as loud as he can. His parents watch and allow him to scream thinking that he will soon calm down, but he doesn’t. He calls all his friends who start screaming with him and even declares that he is going to marry his girlfriend. The neighbor then gets in his car and drives away. Confused, the son looks at his parents wondering why their neighbor drove away in ‘his’ car.

3. Doritos: Man’s Best Friend

This commercial featured a husband gardening. He looks to his side and sees a dog burying something. He then looks and sees a poster with a cat on it and notices the collar on the poster is the same as the one  partially buried by the dog. He looks back and the dog hands him a bag of Doritos with a note that says, “You didn’t see nuttin”. The husband takes the Doritos and says nothing.

4. 2012- Chevy Silverado

This commercial features the end of the world. Everything is in ruin, but out of the ashes comes a man and his dog in a Chevy Silverado, unharmed. The two drive through the ruin and meet up with their fellow Chevy drivers. He then asks the others where their friend Dave was and his friend says he didn’t make it because he drove a Ford.

5. Transactions- Acura

My final pick includes Jerry Seinfeld while he is looking to be the first person to buy the new Acura NS-X, but someone else is ahead of him. Jerry then tries to bribe this person with all that he can and eventually gets the man to give in. But, right as the man is about to hand Jerry the key, Jay Leno flies in and offers his jet-pack flying-squirrel suit. The man agrees and Jerry is left with nothing.
